More Information
Delightfully complex, showcasing vibrant tropical citrus aromas, beautifully balanced with subtle grassy, herbaceous undertones and a creamy, rich texture.
Brian and Nicola Bicknell established Mahi in 2001 to highlight the unique individuality vineyards of the Marlborough region had to offer. Typically, Marlborough wines were crafted as regional blends, removing the distinct character of each site. Mahi wanted to change this, and showcase the region’s depth and complexity.
Brian’s “hands-off” and natural winemaking style allows the vineyards to speak through the wines, and highlight Mahi’s translation, “our work”, “our craft”.
The fruit is hand-picked and sorted, with fermentation completed using the grapes indigenous yeast, and finally, barrel oak ageing is done with French barrels, providing savoury and earthy character.
