Orange Natural Wine from Romania

Situated in western Romania just to the east of the town of Timisoara Cramele Recas is a very impressive new winery on an old site.

We have received a lot of interest in our Orange Natural Wine from our friend Philip Cox at Cramele Recas. Many of you will have already tasted some of their Frunza and Paparuda wines over the years, but this is a new project already proving very popular.

Natural wine has been around for a while, and this is definitely the most widely enjoyable style on offer. An orange wine is made from white grapes, but fermented with the grape skins in contact with the juice to give a distinct orange hue to the wine. This gives a full flavoured white wine, but with the body of a red wine. This is a really quickly growing sector, akin the craft beer and cider category.
