More Information

La Petite Tour de Bessan is the second wine of Château La Tour de Bessan, a respected family-owned estate in the prestigious Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. It offers an approachable introduction to the elegance and refinement associated with this celebrated Left Bank region, combining expressive fruit, polished tannins and classic Bordeaux character.

Owned and managed by Marie-Laure Lurton, the estate has a long history dating back to the 13th century, when a medieval tower stood on the property. The vineyards benefit from the gravel-rich soils typical of Margaux, which help produce wines with aromatic complexity, freshness and structure.

Made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the precise blend varying according to vintage, La Petite Tour de Bessan is crafted to offer attractive fruit character and a supple, accessible style. The wine is carefully vinified to preserve freshness and varietal expression, resulting in a beautifully balanced red with plenty of personality.

On the nose, expect inviting aromas of ripe blackcurrant, red berries and dark cherry, complemented by hints of spice, cedar and gentle toasted notes. The palate is smooth and generous, with juicy fruit, elegant structure and silky tannins. A fresh underlying character brings balance, leading to a satisfying finish with lingering berry fruit and subtle savoury complexity.

Versatile and food-friendly, La Petite Tour de Bessan is an excellent partner for roast lamb, grilled beef, duck, hearty casseroles and mature cheeses. A lovely choice for those who enjoy classic Margaux but are looking for a more approachable wine to enjoy without lengthy cellaring.
