More Information
Experience the elegance and finesse of Burgundy with this expressive Bourgogne Côte d’Or Pinot Noir from Domaine du Clos des Poulettes. Produced by a family estate with generations of winemaking experience in the Côte de Nuits, this is a beautifully authentic expression of Pinot Noir, showcasing the delicate fruit, freshness and subtle complexity for which the region is celebrated.
Bourgogne Côte d’Or is an appellation that highlights wines produced from vineyards across the prestigious Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The area’s limestone and clay-rich soils, combined with Burgundy’s distinctive continental climate, create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, a grape variety renowned for its sensitivity to its surroundings and its ability to express individual vineyard characteristics.
In the glass, this wine displays the graceful, fruit-led character typical of good Burgundy Pinot Noir. Aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry and redcurrant are complemented by delicate floral notes, hints of violet and rose, and a subtle savoury spiciness. The palate is fresh and supple, with vibrant red fruit, fine-grained tannins and beautifully balanced acidity. Rather than relying on weight or concentration, its appeal lies in its elegance, purity of fruit and understated complexity.
The result is a wonderfully versatile red Burgundy that combines immediate drinking pleasure with the character and refinement of its origins. Enjoy alongside classic French cooking, roast poultry, mushroom dishes or simply on its own when a lighter, more elegant red wine is called for.

Domaine du Clos des Poulettes is a family-run estate situated in Corgoloin, in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. With a history spanning more than seven generations, the domaine has a long-standing connection with the region and a reputation for producing wines that express the character of their individual vineyard sites.
Today, the estate is managed by Hélène Michaut-Gadeul, who took over the family vineyards in 2014. The domaine covers approximately 16 hectares across Corgoloin, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée, with plantings of predominantly Pinot Noir alongside Chardonnay. Its best-known vineyard is the walled Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru parcel, ‘Clos des Poulettes’, which gave the estate its name.
The family combines traditional Burgundian knowledge with modern vineyard and cellar techniques. Careful attention is given to the cultivation of Pinot Noir, a particularly delicate grape that requires meticulous vineyard management to achieve healthy, fully developed fruit. In the winery, traditional methods are supported by temperature-controlled equipment and a considered approach to extraction, helping preserve the freshness and aromatic purity of the grapes.
The domaine’s philosophy is centred on expressing the individuality of Burgundy’s terroirs while producing wines of balance, finesse and authenticity. Its Bourgogne Côte d’Or Pinot Noir is an excellent introduction to the estate’s style, offering the charm and elegance of Côte de Nuits winemaking at an accessible appellation level.
