More Information
Giordano Lombardo Orange Wine is an intriguing and beautifully crafted Italian skin-contact white wine from the Gavi region of Piemonte.
Made from 100% Cortese grapes, this distinctive wine embraces an ancient winemaking tradition in which the juice remains in contact with the grape skins during fermentation. This technique creates its characteristic golden-orange colour, added texture and wonderfully complex flavours. Produced using spontaneous fermentation, without clarification or filtration, this is an authentic expression of artisanal winemaking. Aged for twelve months on its fine lees, the wine develops additional depth, structure and complexity while retaining the distinctive character of the Cortese grape. Unusual, expressive and full of personality, this is a fantastic choice for adventurous wine lovers looking to explore the fascinating world of Italian orange wines.A wonderfully distinctive and aromatic orange wine, displaying an attractive deep golden colour. Giordano Lombardo is a small, family-run biodynamic winery based just outside the medieval village of Gavi in Piemonte, close to the border with Liguria. The estate covers around 20 hectares, with a focus on the native Cortese grape for Gavi and Barbera for red wines. The family places a strong emphasis on sustainable, natural farming and minimal intervention, aiming to produce wines that express the local climate, soils and traditional character of the Gavi hills.
