Mussel Bay is a New Zealand wine label specialising in wines that showcase the distinctive fruit character of the country’s key wine regions. Its Sauvignon Blanc comes from Marlborough, at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, an area internationally recognised for producing expressive, aromatic white wines.
The wine draws on selected parcels from the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, two important sub-regions of Marlborough. Their contrasting vineyard conditions contribute freshness, aromatic intensity and ripe fruit character to the finished blend.
The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness, gently pressed and fermented slowly at cool temperatures in stainless-steel tanks. This carefully controlled approach helps preserve Sauvignon Blanc’s naturally vibrant aromas, crisp acidity and fresh fruit flavours.
