Based at Quinta da Gricha, on the south bank of the Douro River in the prestigious Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro Valley, Churchill’s was founded in 1981 by Johnny Graham. Driven by a vision to create his own distinctive style, Johnny sought to blend the heritage and traditions of Port production with a fresh, contemporary approach to both Port and Douro wines.

At the time, no new Port house had been established for more than 50 years—a bold step that set Churchill’s apart and continues to define its independent spirit.
